Elements, Part I, Fire - New Orleans Fine Art Wedding Photography
In October of this year, I had the amazing privilege of attending a workshop in Bend, Oregon hosted by Erich McVey. Art has always been a part of my life, and the art of photographing a wedding has become a part of who I am. I originally signed up to attend Erich's workshop because I wanted to meet other like minded people who I could toss ideas around about shoots, business, and and all things photography. I wanted to learn from Erich, and expand my personal boundaries. Never did I imagine that I would fly to Bend, Oregon, and fall in love with film. I arrived on a Sunday, and didn't even know how to load film into my Contax. Yes, I had taken photography in high school, I developed film in a dark room, and it was magical then, but it was nothing like the magic that happened in Bend. Maybe the timing was just right, at a point in my life and my career that it all just came together. My first few rolls I was hesitant, I was cautious. Did I have the exposure right? Did I have the composition correct? Because once I click, I can't take it back. "Fire" was our first day of shooting. My very first roll of medium format film. And I am head over heels in love.
